JOIN US IN COLOMBIA

Dear International Business Leader,

It is our pleasure to invite you to join the Tampa Bay Export Alliance on an Export Sales Mission to Bogota, Colombia – Florida’s second largest export market.

Strong political stability, a growing middles class (35.3% of the population), and a vastly improved safety and security situation have created healthy economic growth in Colombia. Tampa Bay and Colombia share a rich history. Barranquilla, Colombia was Tampa’s first sister city, established in 1966. Colombia is also Port Tampa Bay’s fourth largest export trading partner and home to two of its sister ports in Cartagena and Barranquilla. Many of our universities and businesses have deep ties to the country.

The mission will include the U.S. Commercial Service Gold Key matchmaker program – customized one-on-one meetings with potential customers or partners in Colombia.

With grants available to qualified companies to cover $1,000 of the Gold Key fee, this is an excellent opportunity for Tampa Bay companies to expand their sales to Colombia.

We look forward to having you with us!

OPPORTUNITIES FOR TAMPA BAY COMPANIES

Colombia is Florida’s second largest export market and the fourth largest economy in Latin America making it an excellent market for Tampa Bay exporters.

U.S. exports to Colombia have increased 15 percent since the implementation of the U.S.-Colombia Free Trade Agreement (FTA) which immediately eliminated import tariffs on 80% of U.S. consumer and industrial products. Due to Colombia’s close ties to the United States and Colombians’ appreciation for the quality and reliability of U.S products consumers in Colombia often favor U.S. products and services over those of foreign competitors making the United States Colombia’s largest trading partner.

Colombia’s extensive planned infrastructure projects, will require: logistics, construction equipment for public roads and airports, water treatment, water supply, electric power generation, pollution control equipment, air navigational and port security aids, railway construction, transportation equipment, security and defense items and services, and mass transit systems.
